About This Event

The iconic Gran Maratón HERSA (historically organized as the Gran Maratón Pacífico) stands as a premier international road racing fixture drawing elite distance runners from across the globe. The winter event packs an integrated athletic timeline featuring specialized 5K and 10K sprint brackets on Saturday afternoon, culminating in the formal Half (21K) and Full (42K) Marathon races early Sunday morning. The certified, completely flat course maps almost entirely along the oceanfront Malecon, which shuts down vehicular traffic for total runner safety. This major athletic landmark officially marks its historic 25th anniversary return running across December 4–6, 2026, launching packet bib distributions at the stadium expo gates starting December 4th.
