About This Event

In heavy oil production systems with high water cut, produced water handling and injection represent the main constraint on operational capacity. At Ecopetrol, a Model Predictive Control (MPC) solution (PlantPAx®/Pavilion8®) was implemented to stabilize transfer and injection processes, reducing variability and optimizing operations. The solution increased injection capacity (+2.4%), improved operational continuity, and maximized oil production while safely operating near system constraints.
