About This Event
New Orleans groove master Herlin Riley is widely regarded as one of the premier drummers performing today. Celebrated for his dynamic soul and swing rhythms, Riley has performed with jazz luminaries including Ahmad Jamal and Wynton Marsalis. Leading his quartet with commanding presence and infectious enthusiasm, he delivers a high-spirited program of original compositions, jazz standards and blues, each infused with the unmistakable pulse of the Crescent City. "A master of color, nuance, and dynamics, Riley mines his drums and cymbals for every possible timbre, often making somewhat unconventional combinations seem perfectly natural". – All About Jazz
