About This Event

Highly modified asphalt mixtures provide longer-lasting pavements with improved resistance to rutting and cracking and greater durability. Successfully deploying these mixtures may require changes to design, production, construction, and quality practices. TRB will host a webinar on Friday, November 20, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern that will explore practical considerations for implementing highly modified asphalt mixtures from mix design through construction. Presenters will discuss how these mixtures differ from conventional Superpave mixtures, including considerations for specifications, performance testing, volumetric requirements, production, handling, placement, compaction, and quality assurance. Agency, industry, and research perspectives and real-world examples will highlight lessons learned and considerations for successfully incorporating highly modified asphalt mixtures into future projects. This webinar is sponsored by TRB’s Standing Technical Committee on Asphalt Pavement Design and Construction. The registration fee is $100. Purchase a webinar package for discounted pricing. Complimentary registration is available for employees of TRB sponsors, standing technical committee chairs, involved CRP panel members, media, congressional staff, and TRB or National Academies staff. Visit MyTRB.org for details. A recording will be sent to all registrants after the webinar.
