About This Event
Improper utilization of flush syringes can have serious consequences for patient safety, including increased risk of central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), disease transmission, and adverse drug interactions. The 2024 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice from the Infusion Nurses Society (INS), supported by CDC and ISMP guidelines, emphasize flushing both before and after medication administration, specifically using new, unopened, single-use prefilled syringes and strict adherence to aseptic technique. In this webinar, Dr. Steinhauser will present a compelling case for adhering to flush best practices and reinforcing aseptic techniques.
