About This Event
Breastfeeding classes assist new mothers in becoming aware of the benefits of breastfeeding to mother, baby, and the community. This class will provide a better understanding of previous misconceptions, and plant the foundation to a good start with breast feeding. Mothers and family will be taught infant hunger cues, positioning, and how milk production is maintained. Expectant mothers and family will learn what to expect if baby goes to NICU, reasons to call the pediatrician and/or the lactation consultant for feeding problems.
